SÉBASTIEN GIRARDEY National Technique Director in charge of High Level

“At 50 years old and drawing on my enriching experience with the French Judo Federation and the Ministry of Sports, I am taking on a new challenge with the Luxembourg Judo Federation, fully committed to serving it to the best of my abilities.

I am convinced that, together, we can achieve excellent results at all levels while finding personal fulfillment in our commitment.

Let’s build an efficient and sustainable system that serves Luxembourg judo, allowing every practitioner to grow as a person through the practice of judo.”

JASPER HUITSING National Coach U21 & Senior

“I’m Jasper Huitsing, proud to be the National Judo Coach for Luxembourg 🇱🇺🥋 for the U21 and Senior athletes.
Born in Groningen 🇳🇱, I’ve lived and breathed judo since I was six — and now I’m lucky to help others chase their dreams on the mat.
Before joining Luxembourg in 2021, I worked in the Dutch judo system as a club coach in Groningen and at Kenamju in Haarlem, and as a National Coach supporting junior and senior athletes in their development.

Excited for what’s ahead with this amazing team. Let’s go, Luxembourg! “

Arnaud Grisier – National Coach U15 & U18

“I am very happy to contribute to the sporting development within the Luxembourg Judo Federation and honored to hold the position of National Coach for U15 & U18.

Working in such an exceptional environment, surrounded by passionate and dedicated people, is a true source of motivation.”

The National Training and Education Center (CNEF), located at the Coque (National Sports and Cultural Center), serves as the primary training environment for judokas enrolled in the Federal High-Level Access Program (PFAHN), offering shared training conditions that combine individualized technical-tactical sessions, randori-focused sessions (training fights), and physical preparation sessions.

Athletes identified as part of the ” cadre COSL”  have privileged access to the high-performance training and recovery facilities of the HPTRC (High Performance Training & Recovery Center), managed by the LIHPS (Luxembourg Institute for High Performance in Sport) at the Coque.

The weekly training program follows a hybrid organization, combining sessions at the CNEF, training in athletes’ home clubs, sessions at nearby cross-border training centers, and training camps abroad.

A continuous monitoring system ensures consistency throughout the athlete’s journey, from entry into the CNEF to participation in major international competitions.

Elite Athletes

Judokas in the elite sport program represent the pinnacle of Luxembourg judo. Selected based on precise performance and commitment criteria, they benefit from individualized guidance and tailored logistical support.

Objectives and Vision

FLJudo’s elite sport policy is based on the concept of a “Triple Career,” promoting balance between sporting performance, education, and personal well-being — essential conditions for long-term success while preparing effectively for life after sports.

The Federation aims to help motivated Luxembourg athletes reach their highest possible performance level in an environment that respects ethical and deontological standards, promoting healthy, sustainable development aligned with judo’s values.

Through its initiatives, FLJudo strives to develop exemplary athletes, ambassadors of Luxembourg both on and off the tatami, equipped to transition smoothly into professional life after their sporting career.
