An intense week of training and competition in Valencia, Spain, ended with two medals for Luxembourg: silver for Ismaël LUSTAC in the U18 category and bronze for Micha WELTER among the seniors.

In the U18 competition, Ismaël LUSTAC (–60 kg, Judo Club Stroossen) delivered an excellent performance, winning four consecutive bouts before losing the final to Spain’s Max Sances Turon. Ugo MARCHIORI (–60 kg) had to withdraw due to a minor injury.

Among the seniors, accompanied by National U21/Seniors Coach Jasper Huitsing, Micha WELTER (–100 kg, Judo Club Stroossen) won the bronze medal after a strong run through the repechage.

Claudio NUNES DOS SANTOS (–81 kg, Judo & Jiu-Jitsu Club Differdange) and Kevin NUNES DOS SANTOS (–73 kg, Judo & Jiu-Jitsu Club Differdange) both recorded wins before exiting the competition. Leni WELTER (–70 kg, Judo Club Stroossen) started with a victory but had to withdraw after suffering a knee injury. Chloe SCHILLINGS (–70 kg, Judo JuJitsu Dudelange) was eliminated in her first bout. Matteo DA CRUZ was also in Valencia to take part in the training camp, without competing.

A productive week of competition, experience and hard work for the entire group, who continued their preparation with an international training camp in Valencia. 🇱🇺💪
